Wild Horizon Farm

ABOUT WILD HORIZON FARM
Our Vision
Thea's dream is to create a peaceful, remote wildlife and animal sanctuary where guests can experience the tranquility and beauty of nature.
After an extensive search, Thea found the perfect property: a small house at the end of a private road, surrounded by wilderness. Beyond the property line, the land stretches down to the Fairmont Reservoir, and we're close to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. Adjacent to us is a 75-acre church camp called The Oaks, ensuring peace and privacy.
With a background as a riding instructor, Thea is excited to offer English riding lessons, as well as jumping and dressage, to guests at the ranch.
Our Residents
Currently, Wild Horizon Farm is home to four horses, Abigail and Fred the donkey, five goats, four Kune Kune pigs, chickens, guinea pigs, and a few foster dogs. Many of our residents are rescues, which is a huge driving force behind our mission.
Our Mission
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our goal is to raise enough funds to provide long-term care for our rescued animals—and for many more in the future. There is a growing need, and we are committed to making a positive impact.
Our Offerings

In addition to our services listed below, we also plan to offer the ranch for small group events, ceremonies, celebrations, and location shoots in the future.
While there is still much work to be done to fully realize the vision for Wild Horizon Farm, we hope you will join us on this journey.

When Thea was a kid, her parents did fairly insane thing and decided to leave London, and move to a 300 year old farmhouse purchased at auction as a condemned building. The house was at the end of the road, on the edge of woodland, on the outskirts of a quiet Suffolk village. The house was in need of a lot of work, over the next 13 years they created a private paradise at Poplar Tree Farm. Thea throughout the rest of her childhood and adult life always had in mind to return to this kind of living, with a persistent drive to seek out the most isolated and remote of places.
Thea’s parents ….. are/ were artists, and very talented at design. They created beautiful spaces. Some of which were featured in magazines and tv. This has been a huge inspiration to Thea in regards to how she envisions Wild Horizon Farm looking one day.
Thea spent her childhood, wandering the fields and Woodlands alone with her dog, horseback riding, and building dens. Also getting In trouble for carving pieces of flint onto arrows to use in bows & arrows.
Poplar Tree Farm was home to dogs, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs, ducks, geese, and chickens. Any injured creature was nursed, and given a chance at survival by Thea.
Over the years, rescuing birds, rabbits, and even some fox cubs!
Thea started horse riding seriously at 6, and by the time she was 10 was volunteering or trading work for rides at local riding schools. Here she learnt the care, and medical needs of horses but other animals too. This devotion continued until University at age 18. Thea participated in fund raising for animal welfare, and wildlife organisations such as the RSPCA & the WWF from age 10, organising sponsored walks which she dragged her stepdad Tony, and friends along on.
After completing a degree in classics Thea went on to study for her Instructors certificate, Groom, rider and barn manager qualifications with the British Horse Society. The BHS system runs parallel with the Pony Club & is a rigorous program.
After an unexpected re location to California, Thea started working at Mill Creek Equestrian in Topanga, as kids camp stable manager, and as an assistant to a dressage trainer. After several years Thea branched out on her own to take on her own clients for horse training, and riding and to create her pet care business - Paws on a Path, which focuses on dog exercise, training, and boarding, but also caters to cats, and other pets.
The purchase of the property in Lake hughes, Wild Horizon Farm was a natural progression on this path to expand both business operations, but also to fulfil a calling to create a beautiful, peaceful therapeutic place to experience nature, and interactions with horses, and other animals.
Now 3 years into the venture, a lot has been achieved, but many more mountains yet to move.

About Thea.
Thea Creasy is the owner of Wild Horizon Farm and founder of our rescue, which officially received non-profit status in October of 2024. Her entire adult life, Thea has been a voice for neglected animals and strived to create a world where every life is filled with love, dignity, and purpose.
Thea grew up in a remote, rural area in the east of England. Living in a farmhouse, with a family who loved animals. On her 6th birthday she was gifted a horse ride with friends. She fell off the horse, sliding down a Gypsy’s neck into a patch of stinging nettles. However, a lifelong passion was born!
After getting a “proper degree” at University (BA Classics), she returned to college to qualify with the British Horse Society as a Barn Manager, Riding Instructor, and Rider.
An unexpected relocation to California led Thea to start working at several prestigious equestrian centers in Los Angeles. She has now worked in the equine industry for 30 years.
She has developed a reputation amongst her peers as being a highly skilled and compassionate horse trainer and instructor. She specializes in English, Dressage, Hunters, Jumpers, Eventing, Stable Management, Horsemanship and Equine Therapy.
