Wild Horizon Farm operates not only as a place to learn about horses, we are a working horse training facility. You will often see new faces as we develop horses specifically for each rider. We match our horses and riders depending on experience and interests, so you'll experience a variety of personalities which will help you become a seasoned rider!

Abigail and Fred, the Donkeys
Meet Abigail, our 3-year-old donkey with a heart as big as her spirit! Abigail arrived at Wild Horizon Farm completely feral, refusing to be touched and living on her own terms. She came to us from a rescue in Perris, CA, alongside a group of goats. One winter, during a fierce snowstorm, Abigail was trembling from the cold. After hours of coaxing, pushing, and a lot of patience, she finally found shelter in a stable with Storm, a heavily pregnant mare. It was here that Abigail’s transformation began.
With daily love and attention, she went from a wary, independent creature to the sweetest, most affectionate donkey around (and, frankly, the only one!). Abigail has a knack for winning hearts with her intelligence and loving nature. She loves scratches and enjoys doing full-speed zoomies around the ranch. When the horses are out, you’ll often find her leading the pack, eager to be at the front of the action. Abigail may be independent, but her loyalty and charm have made her a beloved member of the Wild Horizon family.
After learning that donkeys mate for life, a feeling crept in, perhaps Abigail should have such a partner? Thea spoke of the intention to a couple of animal enabling friends, and one day received a Facebook post/ message about a baby boy who needed to find a loving home; we found our beloved Fred. Fred is possibly the most adorable looking donkey in the west. His eyes are like deep glacier pools reaching to the Center of earth. He was extremely timid at first, but over time has learnt to give soft muzzle kisses. Late night ranch duties ending with a goodnight kiss from Fred, will uplift your whole existence!!
Winston, Mabel, Marigold, and Phoenix, the Kune Kune pigs
Kune Kune pigs are the most awesome, affectionate, and friendly pigs you’ll ever meet! Thea has always dreamed of having pigs on the farm. One day, Thea came across three piglets needing a home on Craigslist: Winston, Mabel, and Marigold. She adopted them all and they quickly became a beloved feature of the farm, greeting everyone with enthusiasm and, yes, a lot of noise. Did you know pigs can make up to 300 different sounds to communicate? These guys definitely have a lot to say!
Phoenix is the farm’s special girl, born right here on the ranch to Winston and Mabel. She's as sweet-natured as her mom and loves to be the center of attention. Marigold, on the other hand, is the spunky one! Feisty and full of energy, she keeps things interesting around here with her spirited personality. And then there’s Winston, the boar pig and the undisputed leader of the pack. As the most dominant of the bunch, Winston’s got a natural charisma and is always first in line for food or belly rubs. Despite their different personalities, all four pigs are incredibly affectionate and make sure to greet us with excitement every day. From playful snorts to happy oinks, these Kune Kunes bring joy, laughter, and plenty of piggy love to Wild Horizon Farm! 🐷💛
